Well, it’s 11:26pm and I’m kinda tired so I don’t know how the second paragraph has turned out. But, here it is. The whole thing as of yet:
Chapter 1
“Wake up, you’ve got work to do.” Said a voice. I rolled over from the travel worn mattress, blinded by the glaring sun peeking through the tent entrance, and quickly pulled on my unifor- well. Rags fits better. Then stepped foot outside, only to be greeted by even more sunlight and someone I hadn’t seen before. “Now that you’ve woke up, I need to inform you of something.” He said. “You’ve probably noticed that your brothers weren’t in there with you.” Come to think of it, I hadn’t. “They still haven’t returned from the task Papa Khan set them yesterday. We’re starting to think they didn’t plan on returning at all.” Well, there go my morning’s plans. He then murmured something I could only make out as, “Papa Khan, see you.” then walked away. Well, he didn’t seem like the usual Khan, no introduction, no uniform. Never the less, I thought nothing much of it and headed to Papa Khans tent.
I entered the tent, Papa Khans view switched directly to me from some papers he had been looking at on his makeshift desk. “Good morning, Segis. I’m sorry to drag you out so early. It’s just, we’ve had a spot of bother with your fellow brothers.” He said this in quite a calm tone. I suppose he’s quite a nice guy, I’m not really too close to him; he’s just never seemed as harsh as the others preached. “Like you’ve been told, they didn’t return from their task yesterday. I called ‘you’ here because they don’t seem to socialize with anyone else at camp.” Yeah, they really aren’t the social type at all; they don’t even seem to talk that much to each other. “Have they spoken to you recently?” he asked. Hmm. Well. I hadn’t seen them since yesterday and this was morning time. Although, now I think about it, I do remember Kalim mentioning something to do with a waypoint and some kind of map. “Waypoint?” he questioned. “Hmm, that is peculiar. I had message that two other Khans went missing from our camp up west of here. The sharer of their tent also heard something of a waypoint. The others at camp said he disappeared. Not long after he’d sent word of it here.” Maybe, he had overheard something he should not have. Papa Khan coughed loudly, then assertively said. “I have a task for you. Please search your tent. But carefully. If you see anything out of the ordinary, please come back here and inform me immediately.” He then ushered me to the exit of his tent. This all seemed very odd. Carefully? Out of the ordinary? Don’t question it, I told myself.
